Fiat Punto Sporting

  • Internally codenamed Project 176, the Punto was announced in September 1993 and launched in late 1993 as a replacement for the ageing Fiat Uno. The Fiat Punto was voted European Car of the Year for 1995. The Punto's distinctive clean-cut styling by Giorgetto Giugiaro was an instant hit (though one of the car's most recognisable features, the vertical tail/rear lights, were not part of Giugiaro's original design and were in fact added later in-house at Fiat's factory[citation needed]). Competitive pricing which undercut rivals such as the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa and Volkswagen Polo also helped the Punto become an instant success in the European marketplace.

This Is Engine For Buggati Veyron
One quickly runs out of superlatives when trying to describe the Bugatti Veyron. Endowed with absolute power and a daunting maximum speed, the Veyron looks and sounds like it just came out of some impossible future inhabited by gigantic gas pumps.
50 years after Ettore Bugatti's death, Volkswagen used its magic wand to resurrect the legendary firm, and to say the least, the German carmaker did a mindblowing job.
Instead of trying to match the Royale's incredible legacy, re-Volkswagen decided to look for inspiration in Bugatti's racing history to design the Veyron, rightfully using the name of the famous driver who won at Le Mans in 1939 behind the wheel of a Bugatti Type 57.
It's easy to feel intimidated by this incredible machine, so we carefully and promptly handed it back to its official tutor, French race car driver PierHenri Raphanel.
The Veyron is unbeatable. Revolutionary techniques were involved in the making of this 21st Bugatti. Needless to say, fuel efficiency was never an issue in the process, and you'll be delighted to learn that the Bugatti Veyron has given a new meaning to the term gas-guzzler by settling for a little more than 2 miles per gallon at top speed. It took several years of trial and error to achieve the Bugatti Veyron's final version. Launched by flamboyant CEO Ferdinand Piƫch in 1999, the project started with a prototype equipped with a W18 engine (three flatV6's side by side).
Under the supervision of engineer Wolfgang Shreiber, the Veyron became more stable and drivable. In a classy move, Volkswagen moved Bugatti back to Ettore's original headquarters at Saint Jean Castle in Molsheim, Alsace, and the resurrected firm should even increase its production in 2006 to meet the demand.

US dismisses Congress young guns: In pics

US dismisses Congress young guns: In pics

WikiLeaks does it again. In a leaked US embassy cable, Americans wrote off the young Members of Parliament from the Congress party. They are all from Rahul Gandhi's team.

0

The young Lok Sabha MPs in Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's United Progressive Alliance-II (UPA-II) don't have the USP that would make Uncle Sam dance around them. A secret cable, leaked online, sent after the 2009 general elections said the majority of young MPs in the Lok Sabha were mere scions of powerful political families. A look at the 'promising' youngsters of Rahul Gandhi's team.

Rahul Gandhi

1

The Gandhi scion has been known to usher in the youth revolution in the Congress party by handpicking young men and women for elections. Those who won have been given portfolios at the Centre.

As revealed by WikiLeaks, Rahul told a US embassy official that 79 of the new Lok Sabha's 543 members were under 40. But the US was not excited about this generational shift in Parliament.

Jyotiraditya Scindia

2

He is Member of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh and from the former royal family of Gwalior. He entered politics after his father, veteran Congress leader Madhavrao Scindia, died in a plane crash.

The WikiLeaks cables reveal that the US cited his political lineage, along with that of Sachin Pilot, Agatha Sangma to make its point. It said these three young ministers "owed their election and jobs to their parents".

Ashok Tanwar

3

He represents Haryana's Sirsa constituency. Part of Rahul Gandhi's handpicked team, he was appointed president of the Youth Congress in 2005. He was National Students' Union of India (NSUI) president earlier.

According to the leaked WikiLeaks cable: "Despite the clamour and excitement generated in the media by the young MPs, it is not clear if these new legislators will prove to be a formidable force in national politics."

Sachin Pilot

4

He is a two-time MP from Rajasthan's Ajmer constituency. He is the son of late Congress heavyweight Rajesh Pilot, who was killed in an accident.

The leaked cable continues: "...While the new crop of leaders may be modern in their outlook and western-educated, most of them were either handpicked by Rahul Gandhi or are relatives of successful politicians. In the end, these younger MPs may represent no significant change in the old guard of the political establishment."

Muhammed Hamdulla Sayeed

5

He represents the sole seat from Lakshadweep and contested the seat after his father, ex-Union Power Minister P.M.Sayeed, died.

The leaked cable said at 26, the youngest voice among the "political rookies" was Muhammed Hamdulla Sayeed and he too has politics in his blood. "He represents the sole seat from the island of Lakshadweep, which he contested after the death of his father, P.M. Sayeed, the former Union Power Minister.

Meenakshi Natarajan

6

She is an MP from Madhya Pradesh's Mandsour constituency. She was handpicked by Rahul Gandhi to serve as AICC secretary in 2008.

The cable, however, mentioned that MPs such as Meenakshi Natarajan and Ashok Tanwar had risen through the ranks from the ruling Congress's student wing. Simply put, these MPs were stewed over slow fire and had fought hard elections battles.

Agatha Sangma

7

She is the MP from Meghalaya and the youngest member in the council of ministers. Agatha is the daughter of NCP leader and former Lok Sabha speaker P.A. Sangma.

The youth wave in Parliament was more hype than substance, the US cable leaked to WikiLeaks added.

Mahindra is ready to launch its global SUV, the XUV 500

Mahindra growth in the SUV segment has definitely been a "boom" Since its Scorpio, a rugged and versatile XYLO the Indian market. Boosted by the success of the Mahindra duo is ready to begin the world's first SUV was baptized in 500 XUV

Let's get the name bit. XUV Why do you ask? Mahindra and this baby is the next generation SUV has to do with the game taking other SUVs and so they decided to take the SUV with the general term and additional term XUV. As with the two together, evoking the "oomph" factor.

Now that we have called all-inclusive pass to the product itself. Mahindra seeks to place the XUV 500 between Scorpio and the range of high-end SUV, which consists of the Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva, Mitubishi Outlander, Honda CR-V, etc.. With no producer to present in this segment, Mahindra got hit on it being the first to play the field. Of what we think, that the eccentric but highly capable Skoda Yeti called XUV 500 closest competition, but only time will confirm.
